Day 2: Dar Es Salaam – Ruaha

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ruaha National Park. On your arrival, our safari guide will pick you up and take you to the lodge/camp for lunch. Game viewing starts the moment the plane touches down. The lifeblood of this untrammeled wilderness is the Greater Ruaha River that courses along the eastern boundary and attracts quite an abundance and a diversity of animal species including an impressive array of large predators such as Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Hyenas, as well as packs of the highly endangered African Wild dogs. Dinner and overnight stay in Ruaha.

Day 3: Game viewing in Ruaha National Park

Morning and afternoon game drives in the Park. Ruaha’s unusual high density of antelopes is a function of its location which is the transitional between the Acacia savannah of East Africa and the Miombo woodland belt of Southern Africa. The Africa’s largest populations of Greater Kudu, the park emblem, distinguished by the male’s corkscrew horns are also found here. A fine network of game – viewing roads follow the Great Ruaha and its seasonal tributaries, where during the dry season – Impalas, Waterbucks and other antelopes risk their life to the predators for a sip of life – sustaining water. Dinner and an overnight stay in Ruaha.

Day 4: Ruaha – Mikumi, Game viewing in Mikumi

Rise up in the morning, after breakfast, drive to Mikumi National Park for lunch and an afternoon game viewing. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of Mkata floodplains, the popular center of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains.

Day 5: Ruaha – Mikumi, Game viewing in Mikumi

Rise up in the morning, after breakfast, drive to Mikumi National Park for lunch and an afternoon game viewing. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of Mkata floodplains, the popular center of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains.

In the morning embark on another game drive in MikumiNatioanal Park. Here you are chanced to observe Lions survey their grassy kingdom – and the Zebra, Wildebeest, Impala and Buffalo herds migrate across it while Giraffes forage in the isolated acacia stands that fringe the Mkata River. The equally impressive Greater Kudu and Sable antelopes haunt the Miombo covered foothills of the mountains that rise from the park’s borders. Later during the day, drive through the scenic Uluguru Mountains to Selous Game Reserve for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Game viewing in Selous Game Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives in Selous Game Reserve. This is the largest game reserve in Africa and even the second largest in the world.
